MAMA BEAR.... ???

You always hear phrases like "don't mess with Mama Bear!" - meaning that a Mom will protect & defend their child to the death.

I, however, seem to have birthed LIONS.

Just like in the wild for lions, the males in my household seem to feel that everything should revolve around them and be done for them.  The Man lives half the week in a hotel; therefore, he has what I call "hotel mentality".  Hotel Mentality is when you know that someone is going to come in & make your bed, pick up your towels, and clean your space after you - each day.  You walk out of rooms leaving lights on.  Your food miraculously appears on the table in front of you (even without living in hotels half a week, The Spawn also participate in this delusional Hotel Mentality).  Somehow the stack of laundry, that if it topples off the top of the dryer could surely swamp &/or kill a small child, effortlessly appears at your sink to put away.

The Spawn think that what they want takes precedence.  In the bathroom?  Stop what you're doing to answer a question about if in six months a monkey will visit our house.  On the phone?  Decide to tell me what you did that day (as opposed to simply grunting at me).   Trying to shower?  Ask if Joe-Joe can come play.   I'm never sure if it's a case of my children having a lack of awareness of others... or just a lack of common sense.  Want to sit & read for a bit?  Oh, just remembered there is a huge project due tomorrow & there is a need for a special binding report cover that means you have to search 3 different stores because all other parents had a two week advance notice to get it...

This has all come to a head because we're trying to pack for an event.  For two days I have repeatedly requested any & all dirty laundry...  I have begged.   I have pleaded.   I have threatened their ability to spawn future generations.  So... L-Day comes.  Laundry Day.  No clothes.  I do what I have... and then the blasted kids come & ACCUSE ME OF NOT WASHING THEIR CLOTHES.   Really?   Are you frigging kidding me?

Lions.  They are in a little "Me Bubble".   Hear them rooooaaaarrrrrrrrr!
